  • Akandamandalaakaaram vyaaptam yena charaacharam;
    Tatpadam darshitam yena tasmai shree Gurave namah.

    (My) salutations to that Guru who showed me the abode, the one who is known, whose form is the entire universe and by whom all that moves and that does not move is pervaded.

  • Karaagre vasate Lakshmee karamadhye Saraswatee;
    karamoole sthite Gowree prabhaate karadarshanam.

    The front of hands (fingertips) is the abode of Lakshmi(Goddess of wealth), the middle of hands, of Saraswati(Goddess of knowledge), and the root(part of hands near to the wrist), of Gowri (remover of Ignorance). Therefore, every morning one should respectfully have a look at one’s hands.

  • Samudra-vasane devi parvata-stana-mandale;
    Vishnupatnee namastubhyam paadasparsham kshamasva me.

    O mother of earth, who has the ocean and mountains as clothes on her body, who is the wife of Lord Vishnu, I bow to you. Please forgive me for touching you with my feet.

  • Gange cha Yamune chaiva Godaavaree Saraswatee;
    Narmade Sindhu kaaveri jalesmin sannidhim kuru.

    I invoke the presence of holy waters from the rivers Gangaa, Yamunaa, Godaavaree, Saraswatee, Narmadaa, Sindhu and Kaaveri in this water.

  • Shubham karoti kalyaanam aarogyam dhanasampadah;
    Shatru-buddhirvinaashaaya deepajyotir-namostute.

    I solute the One who is the lamplight that brings auspiciousness, prosperity, good health, wealth and destruction of Ignorance.

  • Annapoorne sadaapoorne Shankara praana-vallabhe;
    Jnaana Soubhaagya siddhyartham bhikshaam deehee cha paarvati.

    O mother Parvati who is beloved of Lord Shiva, who is always complete in the form of Annapoorna (divine mother in the form of provider of food) I ask you to provide me nourishment that will bring both knowledge of my true self and auspiciousness in my life.

  • Saraswatee namastubhyam varade kaamaroopini;
    vidyaarambham karishyaami siddhir-bhavatu me sadaa.

    O mother Saraswati (goddess of learning), I bow to you; as I am about to begin learning, please bless me that may all my endeavours to learn be always successful.

  • Om Brahmarpanam Brahma havir-brahmaagnau Brahmanaahutam;
    Brahmaiva tena gantavyam Brahma karma samaadhinaa.

    Any process of offering is Brahman, the oblation is Brahman, the instrument of offering is Brahman, and the fire to which the offering is made is also Brahman. For such a one who abides in Brahman, he reaches alone Brahman.

  • Om Sahanaavavatu saha nau bhunaktu saha veeryam karavaavahai
    Tejasvinaa-vadheetamastu maa vidvishaavahai
    Om shantih shantih shantih.

    May the Lord protect us; May he give us joy; May he exert together; May our efforts be successful: May we never be jealous of each other.

  • Raamam Skandam Hanoomantham Vainateyam Vrukodaram;
    Shayane yah smaret nityam dusswapnam tasya nashyati.

    One who remembers Ram, Kartikeya, Hanuman, Garuda and Bheema daily before going to bed at night; he never has a nightmare.
